Uncovered insurance amount is billed to patient directly and is always an unknown in our current medical system.

This Doctor's account statement arrives with a rubber stamped Notice: PAYMENTS NOT MADE WITHIN 60 DAYS - 40% CHARGE WILL BE ADDED TO YOUR BALANCE.

Dr. Nilsen is a nice man, I would just question all additional fees very closely before surgery if funds are tight.
